The finals of the Eastbourne Women’s Town Bowls Competitions took place on Wednesday 16 August at the Royal Sovereign Bowls Club, Eastbourne. The Pairs and Fours finals were held in the morning and the Lifeboat Triples and Singles were played after lunch. The weather was perfect for bowling and all matches were played in glorious sunshine with many spectators watching the games.
Gildredge Park Bowls Club had two pairs into the semis. Cathy Greenwood & Carol Forge reached
the semi Finals and Jill Seymour and Jenny Townsend won their semi but then were narrowly beaten in the final by a team from St. John’s.

In the Fours Mary Bowley, Helen Cunningham, Marilyn Doust and Ellen Strevans reached the semi-finals.
In the Cameron Cup singles competition, the club had three semi-finalists, Helen Cunningham, Mal Rossell and Jenny Townsend. Both Helen and Mal won so played each other in the final.
Mal went on to win and become the Eastbourne Town women's singles champion.
