National competitions
BOWLS ENGLAND NATIONAL NATIONAL COMPETITIONS
Individual club members, and the club teams, enter various BOWLS ENGLAND NATIONAL COMPETITIONS.
The National Competition entries open around the New Year. Early rounds are played out on a regional basis culminating in the Finals, which take place at Leamington Spa around August/September. The photo below shows the finals in action on three of the six rinks at the national centre, Leamington.
Club entries
Gildredge Park Bowls Club enters certain competitions on behalf of the club. These include our Club Women’s and Men's Champions in the Champion of Champions Competitions. The Club also enters club teams into national competitions such as Top Club for Men and Women. Also the Tony Allcock . The Club pays the entry fees and the teams are selected by the Club.
Personal entries
There are individual and team competitions to enter. By going onto the Bowls England website you can register your name and then enter and pay for the competitions you wish to enter.
Example competitions include:
Mixed Fours: two men and two women.
Mixed Pairs: one man and one woman.
Men’s and women's senior singles:
Family Pairs:
etc. etc.
For those who have not entered one of Bowls England competitions before, this is a great opportunity to improve your game by playing against players or teams who you will find to be more competitive.
Bowls England competitions rules allow you to team up with another bowler who does not necessarily have to be a member of your club but has to play for a club in the same County as your Club
